Downtown Visions is now accepting applications for the following positions: Operations Manager The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that our communications center, video monitoring, and clean and safe ambassadors operate in an efficient and effective manner. This role will be required to oversee the day-to-day completion of duties, troubleshoot any staffing or service issues and provide overall supervisory support to the employees and front-line supervisors. This position requires a demonstrated ability to problem solve and sound decision decision making as well as the ability to motivate and manage employees. For consideration please submit your resume with salary requirements to Michael Maggitti at mmaggitti@downtownvisions.org Safety Ambassadors Safety Ambassadors function as community service representatives for the downtown BID and serve, in part, as extra "eyes and ears" of the Wilmington Police Department. Ambassadors patrol specific sectors of the downtown to observe and serve as a source of information to the public, businesses, residents, tourists and other people downtown. Job description Safety Ambassadors are a uniformed patrol who act as a positive, friendly and welcoming presence in the BID. We work in partnership with the police, provide information about sites of interest, give directions, provide safety escorts check on parking lots and garages, assist tourists, interact with visitors, and check in on businesses in the district. Safety Ambassadors may also support any downtown events as needed, such as the Downtown Wilmington Farmers Market and First Night. Ambassadors work on a rotating schedule consisting of a day shift (from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm.) and a night shift (from 4:00 p.m. to midnight), including some weekends and holidays. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or GED. Mandatory pre-employment testing including: controlled substance screening, criminal background investigation and reference check. Applications will not be accepted from anyone convicted of felonies, thefts, assaults or any drug-related offense. Downtown Visions also reserves the right to perform random drug testing.
