Downtown Wilmington, DE

Rodney Square

1001 N. Market St., Rodney Square
Wilmington, DE 19801

Named for Caesar Rodney, Rodney Square was built in the 1920s in the center of Wilmington with the Caesar Rodney statue as the centerpiece. Old New Castle County Courthouse was demolished, a park created in its place, and monumental new buildings constructed around it. These changes reflected the growing international, commercial, and industrial stature of Wilmington.
